FAC-WF-03 · Department reviewers and department readiness
Each department has reviewers and assistants, each a role with several members. Assistants prepare and submit; any current reviewer who didn't prepare the work can approve or cosign it. Department readiness shows, per department, what is published, waiting, blocked or not configured.
Before you start
- Facility Admin appoints members (Administration → Department reviewers).
- Accreditation Coordinator
quality@demo-clinic.testreads Department readiness.
Steps
1. Add a member
Add member on a department: choose the person, Reviewer, Assistant or Clinical lead, their professional group, whether the hospital has confirmed they can review clinical content (with the evidence), an optional end date and the reason. A member can be limited to one unit.

Membership never grants prescribing, chart-signing or wider patient access, and appointing someone does not make the administrator a reviewer.
2. End a role
End role with a reason. The person can no longer approve or cosign there; signatures they already gave stay valid. A department left without a reviewer says No current reviewer, and records needing a cosignature show No eligible cosigner instead of being approved by anyone else.

3. Read department readiness
Department readiness lists every department: workflows assigned and published, waiting for review, changes requested, overdue reviews, records in progress, awaiting cosignature, blocked (no eligible cosigner), on hold, and the reviewers and assistants. A department with nothing assigned says Not configured, never ready. Filters change the rows shown; the All departments total always counts every department. Workflow acceptance, clinical source adoption and AI clinical evaluation are shown separately. The last review decisions are listed; they can't be edited or deleted.

Practice task
Appoint a second reviewer to Pharmacy with an end date next month. Check: readiness shows two Pharmacy reviewers and the appointment appears in the recent decisions with your reason.
